About The Novello Theatre
Once called the Waldorf theatre and before that The Strand theatre, the Novello was built as a pair together with the Aldwych Theatre, each straddling the famous Waldorf Hotel. Designed by the prolific theatre architect W.G.R Sprague, the Novello seats just over 1000 people split over four levels: the stalls, dress circle, grand circle and upper circle.

Dynamic, fun and good music The show itself was very good but:
The music was really too loud at times you could not hear the words.
We were upper circle B row and in the row below there were people who leaned on the railing, one had a scarf sort of hat which was quite high, and we could not see half the stage. We told them to stay sitting in their seats, even asked a member of staff to tell them but they DID NOT change anything. I think the Novello should tell people to stay in their seats, unless there is nobody behind. Such behaviour is not acceptable.

Best musical ever! The live orchestra and excellent acting made this show my favorite musical of all time. I’ve seen many shows on Broadway in NY and at the Pantages in LA, but this topped everything. It was so engaging and I found myself smiling and/or singing through the whole thing!
