About The Novello Theatre

Once called the Waldorf theatre and before that The Strand theatre, the Novello was built as a pair together with the Aldwych Theatre, each straddling the famous Waldorf Hotel. Designed by the prolific theatre architect W.G.R Sprague, the Novello seats just over 1000 people split over four levels: the stalls, dress circle, grand circle and upper circle.

Is it the summer staffing?
While the storyline and music are well known, it was the singing and the sound quality. Truly quite average on the former apart from the lead female. The lead man (dad contender) had no power at all. Disappointing.
